Let’s have a look at the results!

Because success is the best motivation, the event aims to strengthen the European Territorial Cooperation community by presenting the best results obtained by Romania!

Debating the future

In the context of ongoing negotiations on the programming period 2021-2027 and the forthcoming Romanian EU Council Presidency during the first semester of 2019, we invite you to be part of the debate session on the future of post-2020 ETC programmes.

Market Place

Through this session, we aim to create a space for consultation between beneficiaries and representatives of national operational programs, in order to encourage investments after finalizing the implementation phase of European Territorial Cooperation projects.

What's next?

We will take a look at the available funding opportunities under the current programming period, and we will analyze the available resources post 2020. It will be a day full of interactive presentations will be delivered by technical experts from the Secretariats of the three European Territorial Cooperation Programmes.

1. Danube Transnational Programme Capitalisation Strategy

Danube Transnational Programme (DTP), are one of the successors of the South East Europe Cooperation Programme (SEE). It was us back then to design a Thematic Capitalisation Strategy which capitalised on the knowledge of the 122 SEE projects. The DTP has designed its own DTP Capitalisation Strategy, which is thriving in a new context, differing to the SEE in a few aspects.

DTP is the biggest transnational programme in terms of the partner states. And not only is it the biggest one but it is also unique in succeeding to integrate three funds– ERDF, IPA and ENI. From Germany, all the way to Ukraine and Moldova, DTP project partners are working together, applying the same rules, on equal footing, on solving the problems and finding sustainable solutions. Therefore, DTP offers the ground to our beautiful Danube region to capitalise on its achievements and keep being beautiful for future generations to come.

2. European and Macro-regional Territorial Monitoring Tool
ESPON 2020 project

The main outcome of this activity should be a simple and highly communicative web tool covering the entire Europe and in particular the four EU macro-regions and providing evidence on key development trends over time and on the progress, implementation and contribution to policy objectives including:

  • Monitoring modules for five distinct geographic areas (four EU macro-regions: Baltic Sea, Danube, Alpine and Adriatic-Ionian and Europe). The European set of indicators should also be made available for the geographies of the four macro-regions.
  • Data, maps, graphs and other resources as the main input for territorial monitoring.
  • Analytical and interactive features that help to monitor, analyse, understand and explain the territorial development processes and trends.
  • Short reports or articles on specific themes to be selected by the stakeholders (3 reports per monitoring module) using the information included in the monitoring tool and including a short interpretation of the information provided in the light of the current policy discussions.

3. INTERREG EUROPE Policy Learning Platforms

The Policy Learning Platform is an intiative of the Interreg Europe programme, established to boost EU-wide policy learning and capitalisation on practices from regional development policies. The platform is a space for continuous learning where the policymaking community in Europe can tap into the knowhow of experts and peers. The platform is open to all policymakers in Europe. Certain target groups have been defined to better focus the resources and services: managing authorities of Structural Funds programmes, regional and local authorities, agencies, institutes, private non-profits.

Through PLP you can: access support and expertise, share knowledge, consult the good practice database and be part of the regional policies community.

4. Re-making the city. An URBACT online webtool with good practices.

URBACT has developed a brand new online tool to show good practices regarding place-based challenges. The aim with this tool is to help cities to get ideas how to make the most of the underused and/or problematic spaces they have, whether in empty buildings, underused public areas, segregated areas, monofunctional or unsustainable areas. Besides these types of challenges, the innovative approaches are grouped according to the stages in the planning cycle, from mapping through activating, envisioning, experimenting, decision-making, financing, mainstreaming till evaluating.

The online webtool can be accessed at http://remakingthecity.urbact.eu/index.php

In the course of the session URBACT experts will present the tool. The session will also provide opportunities to the participating city officials to practice the use of the tool.

This session is mainly addressed to city representatives, urban practitioners and to any other interested stakeholers.
